Plastic-free Lunch Day

Join our schools for Plastic-free Lunch Day on Friday, Nov. 22nd.  The collective action of schools joining together across the nation offers a teachable moment on how to reduce plastic consumption. Single use plastics in schools and workplaces can perpetuate a throw away culture instead of the 4 R’s: refuse (take only what you need), reduce, reuse or recycle (note: less than 10% of plastics are recycled). Nationwide, schools serve over 7 billion meals annually, often with 4 or more single use plastics provided in a single meal.  We encourage staff and families in  preK -12 to participate in using sustainable, reusable materials on Nov.22 and beyond!
